Just a short walk to the harbour front, and a stone's throw from all the amenities of the town, Oyster Catcher Cottage makes a fantastic base for exploring Brixham and South Devon.
The unique charm of this property begins, quite literally, at the front door. Set into the striking sky-blue façade of this pretty cottage is the distinctive period door with feature porthole, and the character continues inside in the charming living space where you will find a log burner for cosy evenings, a feature cast iron range, beamed ceilings and exposed stone walling.
The cottage is arranged over 3 levels and stairs take you up to the first floor kitchen and an open plan living/dining room from which there are lovely views over the rooftops to the inner and outer harbours. The town takes on a different character as the sun sets and the colourful cottages light up, so relax and enjoy the evening views from this sociable space after a day exploring.
The well-equipped kitchen offers the perfect flexibility for self-catering. Brixham is a food lovers' paradise, and you will be spoilt for choice for places to eat out from morning to night. Start your day off with a short saunter down to Brixham’s artisan quarter, “Middle Street”, brimming with independent coffee shops, artisan bakeries and cafés, then browse amongst the creative retailers including some of the town’s artists and photographers. For culinary enthusiasts, why not pick up some fresh fish straight off one of the local day boats to prepare back in the cottage and then enjoy an after dinner drink in the courtyard garden which can be accessed from the kitchen.
The bedrooms are located on the second floor of the cottage with the master bedroom enjoying magnificent views over the harbour and across the marina to the Breakwater.
The second bedroom is fitted with bespoke sized built-in bunk beds recommended for children under 5' 6".
NOTE: Oyster Catcher Cottage's standard bed set-up is to accommodate up to 4 guests (2 adults sharing the double bed and 2 children). There is an additional small trundle bed suitable for infants under the age of 5. Sofa bed available on request, suitable for one additional guest.

Location
Famous for fishing, art and those colourful houses lining the harbour, Brixham is one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK and is home to some of the finest sea food you can think of, but it isn’t just about fishing. Brixham is also rife with art and culture and has several unique attractions suitable for the whole family.
Brixham is a great destination for art lovers, the town has a great range of art galleries that feature local artists as well as showcasing visiting installations. On the Strand, you’ll even have the opportunity to see artists working.
The town also boasts a museum and tours around the coast so you can get a real taste of its maritime heritage. Brixham is the home of the Golden Hind replica, a recreation of Sir Francis Drake’s flagship. Visitors can experience life on board and explore all five decks, it’s a great exhibition for kids learning about the Tudors or for adults who want to find out a bit more about the UK’s history.
Being a fishing port, you can expect a great choice of seafood restaurants with many independent, local establishments offering menus made from fresh local produce. It isn’t all fish though, Brixham’s restaurants and cafes are also supplied by an excellent selection of butchers and green grocers. You’ll be spoilt for choice!
For walkers, The South West Coast Path will take you as far as your legs will carry you, and entertaining the little ones couldn’t be easier with Paignton Zoo, The Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown @ Quay West all within a short drive.
