Brixham's Harbour of Lights gets everyone glowing
Last weekend's 'Lanterns, Lights and 'Luminations' festival in Brixham kicked off the Christmas season in a bigger and brighter style than ever this year as we saw thousands of people parade through the town with their creative lanterns of all shapes and sizes, led by father Christmas in his car and Brixham Town Band playing well loved songs.

After looping round the town past the many shops and businesses who got into the festive spirit, the procession was concluded with the turning on of the lights and the grand fireworks display. Among the lights were some old familiars, notably the three ships which float near the Golden Hind, and then an array of spectacular new lights for which funding was led by the Lighting Up Brixham team #lightingupbrixham including Octavia the Octopus high up on Brixham's Fish Market, and the impressive mermaid high up the sides of the harbour bowl.

Brixham's Harbour of Lights looked stunning and there was an electric atmosphere with live music and entertainment, street performers and market stalls. Liberty's iconic Airstream served up hot Blood Orange Gin, Plymouth Gin winter cup, Jameson and Ginger, Liqueur Coffees and Hot Chocolates, plus mulled wine, cider and festive treats. #libertybrixham

Saltwater Escapes has a range of beautiful properties in prime locations in Brixham - watch from the warmth of the fire in our traditional fisherman's cottage high up the sides of the harbour bowl, or be part of the action from our sailor's loft directly overlooking the Golden Hind.
