Catch the best of England's Seafood Feast

England’s Seafood Feast is returning to the English Riviera this Autumn! From

Friday 30 th Sept to Sunday 9 th Oct, you will be able to eat some of the best seafood in

the world as well as experience all the sights and sounds that Brixham, Paignton and

Torquay have to offer. Local businesses will be offering an array of special menus to

tantalise your taste buds as well as hosting a range of events to keep you

entertained including cookery workshops, wine tastings and coastal foraging.

But that’s not all! The English Riviera has so much more to offer as well as its

acclaimed seafood. Enjoy some breath taking walks and far reaching views along

the Southwest coast path, for thrill seekers try your hand at the abundance of water

sports on offer or visit one of our popular attractions such as Kents Cavern or

Paignton Zoo.






Brixham

Whilst in the famous fishing port of Brixham make sure you visit Brixham Fish Market

where some of the nation’s best chefs source their seafood. Take part in an early

morning tour of the market and learn about the new online auction (the only live fish

auction in the UK) followed up by a delicious breakfast at Mitch Tonks’ Rockfish

Restaurant next door. This is a popular activity so booking is essential.

Take a stroll along the Southwest Coast Path and you might be able to spot some of

the marine life that are regularly landed at Brixham. With over 40 species including

Dover sole, lobster and gurnard there’s a good chance you’ll catch a glimpse of

something. You can even hop on a jet ski for and enjoy watching the wildlife on a

safari with Aqua Jets Safaris.

Grab a table at one of the many eateries on the waterfront and you’ll see the busy

fleet of local day fishing boats going to and fro delivering their haul to the fish market

and local restaurants. You can be sure that the fish on your plate is no more than 24

hours out of the sea whether you’re tucking into fish and chips on the harbour wall or

sat at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

The Curious Kitchen will be offering daily local seafood specials including a special

tasting menu and a fish, fries & fizz pop-up event. Nearby Liberty tearoom and

cocktail bar will be offering a special brunch and a shellfish demo and dine. Venture

to the Berry Head nature reserve and take part in a seabirds and seafood nature

walk and talk with The Guardhouse café.

Seven Brixham restaurants are also taking part in an exclusive charity event in aid of

Fisherman’s Mission where you can enjoy 7 courses over 7 hours. Restaurants

taking part are Rockfish, Curious Kitchen, Liberty tearoom and cocktail parlour,

Shoals restaurant on the lido, Beamers Seafood restaurant, Prince William and ‘The

View’ at The Berry Head Hotel. Booking is essential

Paignton

Although known for its long sandy beach and historic, award-winning pier there is

more to Paignton than buckets and spades and sticks of rock. Take a stroll along the

promenade and you will walk underneath Shoreline restaurant where you can enjoy

views across the bay whilst enjoying some locally landed seafood.

Paignton harbour has plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and every

Sunday you can peruse the stalls of the local craft fair. Take in the stunning views

from the terrace at The Harbour Light restaurant who will be showcasing a seafood

special throughout the festival.

Carry on along the Soutwest coast path heading down cliff walk where you will be

presented with a spectacular view of Goodrington beach. Don’t forget your

binoculars as the abundance of fish and shellfish attracts guillemots, dolphins,

porpoises, seals and even humpback whales! Head down to North Sands and listen

to the authors of the Wild Swimming Walks series of books talk about the joys of wild

swimming before taking the plunge into the sea (bookable event)

Cantina Kitchen and Bar at Goodrington always has a vast array of local seafood on

their menu and exciting events throughout the year including live music, wine tasting

and quizzes. Tap your foot along to a sea shanty performance followed by a

delicious seafood supper including superb wine pairing, booking is required.

Heading towards Brixham you can enjoy daily seafood special at The Venus Café,

Broadsands and further inland you can experience all the sights and sounds of the

farm and join Occombe Farm for some home-cooked delicious seafood specials.

Torquay

With access to the highest quality fresh fish, it will come as no surprise that some of

the country’s top chefs choose to work in Torbay with Torquay claiming some award-

winning chefs and Michelin starred restaurants. Take your pick from a plethora of set

menus, seafood specials, brunches and barbecues when visiting Torquay.

If an early morning start is more your vibe, then why not join WeSup for a sunrise

guided paddle board session followed by breakfast on the marina. Make sure you’re

armed with a bucket and litter picker and join a crew of fellow eco warriors on a

mission to collect as much plastic and rubbish as possible before heading back to

the marina for a seafood BBQ on the gin terrace of Wesup.

Below Decks, The Imperial Hotel and Offshore bar and restaurant are also offering

daily seafood specials on their menus showcasing locally caught and landed

seafood. You can even sway along to the rhythmic sounds of a traditional sea shanty

group and meet the makers of local artisan spirits at Offshore.
