Located just 5 minutes from the centre of Shaldon, a picturesque village at the mouth of the Teign Estuary, Rose House is a fabulous coastal property for friends and family to explore South Devon. With far reaching views across the River Teign to the moorlands in the distance, it is perfectly positioned between the English Riviera towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, and the world famous Jurrassic Coast. With ample parking and a large garden with terrace to enjoy the sunset views, this tranquil property will be your home from home for all that is to be explored in the area.

The open plan living area with access to the terrace is the heart of this home, where guests will enjoy gathering with friends and family and enjoying the views from every window. The sliding doors from the living area not only fill the property with light, but the view will tempt you out onto the terrace where outdoor seating areas provide the perfect spot to relax at the end of a day exploring.  Younger guests and dogs will enjoy the lovingly tended grounds which wrap around the property. The garden has an abundance of shrubs and flowers as well as a raised pond.

With all principal rooms accessed on the entrance level of Rose House, it makes a perfect choice for multi-generation groups. The master bedroom with bay window enjoys a beautiful outlook over the garden and across the river, as does the second double bedroom, and a twin bedroom with vanity sink completes the entrance level accommodation.

Stairs lead down to a lower floor bedroom which is at garden level. This is a wonderful bedroom for children, furnished with bunk beds, a single bed and pull out trundle and equipped with lots of books, puzzles and games.

Shaldon is a vibrant village which enjoys a great selection of independent shops, pubs and award-winning restaurants. The house is an easy five minutes walk to the nearest swim spot, and a ten-minute walk to Shaldon Beach.

Cross the bridge into Teignmouth and explore the thriving arts scene. There's a calendar full of arts and culture events including a jazz and blues festival and a poetry festival.

The property makes the perfect base for exploring both coast and country. Take the coastal route t0 Torquay and beyond to Brixham for a stunning drive, head inland to the historic towns of Totnes, Ashburton or even adventure out to Dartmoor.

25th March - 1st April 2022

On our arrival at Rose House we were greeted by not only a lovely selection of local produce to enjoy during our stay but the most fabulous panoramic views across the estuary towards. Teignmouth. For the three of us, Rose House has been the most warm and welcoming house and garden, filled with all the nice little extras so often lacking in a holiday home. We were especially glad of the ‘friendly’ welcome booklet (especially tips from kiddies and grandkiddies) that they’ve got to be the nicest we’ve come across (really!). After spending our days exploring all the local towns and villages, the highlight has got to be relaxing on the terrace with a glass of wine - and watching the sun set over the best views ever! Rose House has everything you need for an enjoyable time away in the charming and unspoilt village of Shaldon and neighbouring Ringmore. P.s the magnolia tree is in full bloom and looks beautiful (very uplifting!)

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house. I have had a fantastic time with my grandchildren and children. We visited the beach, the zoo, Lustleigh and Canonteign Falls. We particularly loved the views from every room in the house and enjoyed sitting out on the terrace. We could easily have stayed another week as there is still so much we would like to see. Thank you again.

We had a magnificent stay, what a beautiful house and location. Thank you for your hospitality. The view over the Teign is spectacular and the kids loved paddle boarding and jumping in the sea. We enjoyed some spectacular walks from the house and lovely food at the Clipper Cafe and nearby Riverford Farm Cafe Kitchen.
