Location

The stunning beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde, and Saunton Sands are all exceptional. One of the finest beaches in the South West is also within easy reach - Putsborough Sands, this sandy beach has been voted as one of the best beaches in the UK, Europe and the World, and won numerous accolades and a certificate of excellence.

Morte Point and Bull Point offer opportunities for a wonderful circular coastal walk - once notorious for smugglers and wreckers, this stretch of the coastline is a great place to enjoy the dramatic scenery of rocky headlands, coves and sandy bays. If you are lucky you may spot seals on your walk, and you can enjoy the coastal heathland and grasslands.

Just over 10 minutes away is the popular seaside resort of Ilfracombe with its harbour, which is overlooked by Damien Hirst's stunning 66ft tall sculpture of Verity. Aside from the beach, Ilfracombe is full of family friendly attractions and activities from the Aquarium in the harbour to Watermouth Castle and theme park, which combines the remains of a Victorian era castle with a theme park and gorgeous landscaped gardens.

Further along the North Devon coast are the delights of Coombe Martin, Lynton and Lynmouth, and the stunning Valley of the Rocks, you are spoilt for choice with coast paths and coves aplenty to explore.

Exmoor National Park is a pleasant short drive away, and has a unique landscape of moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland, where high cliffs plunge into the Bristol Channel. You will find cosy pubs and tearooms offering their delicious produce, so a day trip exploring this special area is highly recommended.

Great cottage, lovely safe and secure and quiet garden, good size bedrooms and kitchen had everything needed. Only small down side was it was right on the road so had to be careful with the dogs when leaving however we would book again.

Berry Cottage was such a find. Great location for surfing in Croyde and exploring the coastline. It is full of character and super cosy but deceptively spacious - with two living rooms, kitchen and utility. The garden is set out on different levels and we barbecued at the top, looking out over awesome views. It had everything we needed and communication with the owners was great. Will be booking again!

Lovely, cosy, spacious cottage in a great location - walkable to the local pubs and beautiful Croyde bay beach. Very typical Devon cottage - lovely, fully equipped kitchen and utility area - and outside space (although we didn't use it in the winter weather!!!). Great sized bedrooms; bathrooms and living room. A few quirks which you would expect with an old cottage - but nothing major. Thoughtful welcome basket on arrival (even treats for the dog!) and a great book of instructions and information. Much attention to detail and the whole cottage has a great vibe about it. It is on a country road, but the lane is mostly very quiet (so not a problem), but it was mid-winter when I stayed. Easy parking right across the road where you can see your vehicles from the living room..Would definitely return to this cottage!!
