Petal Cottage is a charming two-bedroom cottage set in a quiet residential area of Brixham, offering a comfortable coastal retreat with one dedicated parking space, an enclosed garden and a lovely private outdoor space. Tucked away from the busier harbourfront, yet still within easy reach of Brixham’s marina, beaches, shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, this welcoming cottage is ideal for couples or small families looking to enjoy a relaxing South Devon break.

Inside, the cottage has a warm and homely feel, with a comfortable sitting and dining area that opens directly out to the garden. The sitting area provides a cosy place to relax after a day exploring the coast, while the dining table is ideal for easy breakfasts, relaxed evening meals or planning the next day’s adventures. French doors lead straight outside, creating a lovely connection between the living space and the enclosed garden.

The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering stays, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer, giving guests everything needed for a convenient holiday by the coast.

Upstairs, Petal Cottage offers two bedrooms. Bedroom one has a double bed, while bedroom two has a single bed, making the property well suited to couples or a small family with one child. A family bathroom with bath and overhead shower completes the accommodation.

Outside, the enclosed garden is a real highlight. With patio seating, mature planting and a peaceful summer house, it provides a lovely private space for morning coffee, reading, quiet family time or an evening drink after a day exploring Brixham. The summer house offers an additional spot to relax away from the main house, making the garden feel like a true extension of the living space.

Perfectly placed for enjoying Brixham Harbour, the marina, Berry Head, Shoalstone seawater pool, local beaches, independent shops, seafood restaurants and the South West Coast Path, Petal Cottage offers a peaceful and practical base for a memorable South Devon holiday.

Location

Brixham is a thriving fishing town on the south Devon coast providing a wealth of locally owned restaurants, historic pubs and unique attractions. It is bursting with character while offering beautiful harbourside scenery. The Manor is Brixham’s oldest pub, and one of the oldest pubs in Devon, dating back to the 1600’s - a must visit and just a short stroll from the property. For keen walkers, you are also located right on the South West Coast Path.

Other attractions in Brixham include; the Heritage Museum, The Golden Hinde, Brixham fish market tour, and Greenway House, the home of Agatha Christie. For fresh local produce, visit Rock Fish restaurant, run by local chef Mitch Tonks, eat in or takeaway and enjoy harbourside. If you are visiting over Early May Bank Holiday weekend immerse yourself in the annual pirate festival! You can also take a boat trip from Brixham and explore other towns on the English Riviera and beyond.

Why not head to the beach, just 1.5 miles away, or visit Shoalshore Seawater Pool offering panoramic views of Torbay. Elberry Cove is a 10-minute drive away, a serene pebbled beach with crystal clear water, or head a little further afield to reach Paignton, with its large beach and bustling pier. In the other direction you will find Blackpool Sands, an award-winning single beach with water sport equipment for hire.

Torquay is around a 30-minute drive away with its bustling harbour, international marina, sandy beach, golf club and wonderful array of continental style cafes, restaurants and cocktail bars. Dartmouth is a short journey away via car or boat and offers a wealth of heritage and beauty along with wonderful eateries including The Seahorse, Angel, and Taylors, nearby you will also find The Watermans Arms, The Maltsters Arms, Hunters Lodge Inn and Durant Arms. While Dittisham has a number of water sports activities such as sailing lessons and paddle boarding.

For families with younger children, be sure to visit Pennywell Farm, Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary , Buckfast Butterfly Farm, Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, Woodlands Family Theme Park and Paignton Zoo.
