Description

Nestled within 250 acres of enchanting woodland, The Fishing Lodge is a beautifully handcrafted eco-cabin, perfectly located between Exmoor and Dartmoor National Park. This dog-friendly retreat has been thoughtfully designed for two guests, with a spacious open-plan layout, charming mezzanine bedroom level, central heating, wood-burning stove and a peaceful setting surrounded by nature.

Step inside to discover a characterful and carefully designed interior. At the heart of the lodge, the wood-burning stove creates a cosy focal point, with comfortable sofa seating arranged around the flickering flames. The addition of central heating makes the lodge even more comfortable throughout the seasons, while the peaceful woodland setting offers the perfect opportunity to switch off from the pace of everyday life.

The Fishing Lodge is ideal for guests looking to unwind properly. There is no television, allowing the focus to remain on the surroundings, slower mornings, good books, long walks and evenings by the fire. The well-equipped kitchen has everything needed for a self-catering stay, including a gas range oven, microwave, fridge and coffee machine, with an additional freezer situated outside. At the opposite end of the lodge, the large dining table sets the scene for relaxed breakfasts, leisurely suppers or evenings spent playing cards.

Upstairs, the mezzanine bedroom provides a cosy and restful sleeping space, complete with a king-size bed tucked beneath the roofline. From the dining area, guests can step out onto the wraparound balcony, where the bathroom is located and includes a bath with overhead shower, wash basin, heated towel rail and WC.

Outside, The Fishing Lodge really comes into its own. The expansive wraparound balcony is a wonderful place for a morning coffee while birdsong fills the trees, while the outdoor dining area and firepit create a magical setting for alfresco meals and evenings under the stars. The property also benefits from an outdoor hose for rinsing off muddy boots and paws after woodland walks, as well as a dog kennel for guests travelling with four-legged companions.

With walking trails right on the doorstep and the breathtaking landscapes of Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks within driving distance, The Fishing Lodge offers a truly memorable base for outdoor adventures, peaceful retreats and dog-friendly escapes in Devon.
