Welcome to Isla’s Retreat, a spacious and well-equipped four-bedroom holiday home in Brixham, perfect for families, friends and dog-friendly coastal breaks. Set in a peaceful residential position, this comfortable home offers flexible sleeping arrangements, two bathrooms, a bright first-floor living space and a charming terrace garden with seating and views across the surrounding Brixham hillside.

Arranged over two floors, Isla’s Retreat has been thoughtfully set up to work well for families and mixed groups. On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms and a brand new shower room positioned conveniently between them. Bedroom three offers twin single beds, which can be arranged as a king-size bed on request, while bedroom four has a single bed with an additional pull-out single bed stored underneath. This layout is particularly useful for children, teenagers or guests who prefer to be on the lower level.

Upstairs, the first floor is home to the main open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. This bright and sociable space is ideal for relaxing together after a day exploring the coast, with comfortable seating, an armchair, TV, wooden flooring and a lovely log burner creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for quieter evenings in. The dining area provides space for shared meals, while the well-equipped kitchen includes everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay.

Also on the first floor are two further bedrooms, both with double beds, along with the family bathroom. This gives Isla’s Retreat a practical and flexible layout, with sleeping accommodation spread across both levels and bathroom facilities on each floor.

Outside, the property offers a characterful terrace garden with mature planting, outdoor seating and views towards the surrounding hillsides. It is a lovely spot for a morning coffee, an evening drink or a peaceful moment after a day spent exploring Brixham, Berry Head or the South West Coast Path.

Dog-friendly and well placed for enjoying Brixham Harbour, local beaches, coastal walks and the wider English Riviera, Isla’s Retreat is a comfortable and practical base for a memorable South Devon escape.

Location

Brixham is a thriving fishing town on the south Devon coast providing a wealth of locally owned restaurants, historic pubs and unique attractions. It is bursting with character while offering beautiful harbourside scenery. The Manor is Brixham’s oldest pub, and one of the oldest pubs in Devon, dating back to the 1600’s - a must visit and just a short stroll from the property. For keen walkers, you are also located right on the South West Coast Path.

Other attractions in Brixham include; the Heritage Museum, The Golden Hinde, Brixham fish market tour, and Greenway House, the home of Agatha Christie. For fresh local produce, visit Rock Fish restaurant, run by local chef Mitch Tonks, eat in or takeaway and enjoy harbourside. If you are visiting over Early May Bank Holiday weekend immerse yourself in the annual pirate festival! You can also take a boat trip from Brixham and explore other towns on the English Riviera and beyond.

Why not head to the beach, just 1.5 miles away, or visit Shoalshore Seawater Pool offering panoramic views of Torbay. Elberry Cove is a 10-minute drive away, a serene pebbled beach with crystal clear water, or head a little further afield to reach Paignton, with its large beach and bustling pier. In the other direction you will find Blackpool Sands, an award-winning single beach with water sport equipment for hire.

Torquay is around a 30-minute drive away with its bustling harbour, international marina, sandy beach, golf club and wonderful array of continental style cafes, restaurants and cocktail bars. Dartmouth is a short journey away via car or boat and offers a wealth of heritage and beauty along with wonderful eateries including The Seahorse, Angel, and Taylors, nearby you will also find The Watermans Arms, The Maltsters Arms, Hunters Lodge Inn and Durant Arms. While Dittisham has a number of water sports activities such as sailing lessons and paddle boarding.

For families with younger children, be sure to visit Pennywell Farm, Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary , Buckfast Butterfly Farm, Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, Woodlands Family Theme Park and Paignton Zoo.
