Description

Keepers Lodge is a stylish two-bedroom countryside retreat at Luckett Farm, set within peaceful North Devon farmland close to Exmoor National Park. Recently built as part of a Grade II listed 16th-century thatched Devon longhouse, the lodge blends historic character with modern comfort, creating a relaxed rural escape for couples, friends or small families.

Inside, the property has a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, designed for easy self-catering stays and time spent together. Character features, exposed details and contemporary furnishings give the lodge a warm and inviting feel, while the wood-burning stove provides a cosy focal point for evenings in. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area provides space to enjoy relaxed meals, while the sitting area is ideal for unwinding after days spent walking, exploring Exmoor or visiting the North Devon coast.

Keepers Lodge sleeps up to four guests across two large king-size bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms. This layout makes it particularly well suited to two couples or guests looking for added comfort and privacy.

Outside, guests can enjoy the peaceful farm setting, shared patio and garden space, with rolling countryside and farmland all around. With ample parking and a beautiful rural position in the village of Knowstone, Keepers Lodge is a lovely base for exploring Exmoor National Park, North Devon beaches, nearby villages and country pubs.

Location

South Molton offers a wealth of shops, eateries and pubs. In the neighbouring village of Kings Nympton, pop into The Grove Inn or head to the village of Dunster with its shops, restaurants and the National Trusts’ Dunster Castle, with its subtropical gardens which has four different micro-climates is home to a diverse range of plants and wildlife.

Within the surrounding area is a large selection of pubs and restaurants including the well-known Michelin stared, The Masons Arms. The lovely towns of Great Torrington, set on an inland cliff top with steep drops down to the River Torridge below and bustling Barnstaple, are within a 30 minute drive with an abundance of shops and eateries.

Visit Exmoor with its spectacular scenery and enjoy peaceful walks over the moors where you may catch sight of the wild Exmoor ponies. A must is also the Tarr Steps or try some of the 51 miles of the Coleridge Way.

Slightly further afield you can stroll along the beach at Ilfracombe or take a coastal cruise from the harbour and look out for seals, porpoises and dolphins. Another recommended beach can be found at Saunton Sands.

Play a round of golf at High Bullen Hotel Golf & Country Park, and for the sporting enthusiasts there are ample activities to try such as kayaking, fishing, riding or rock pooling. Fishing is very popular in this area with lakes and reservoirs for coarse and still water trout fishing, plus rivers for wild trout and salmon.
