Just a 10 minute drive away is one of the finest beaches in the South West - Putsborough Sands, the sandy beach has been voted as one of the best beaches in the UK, Europe and the World, and won numerous accolades and a certificate of excellence.

The stunning beaches of Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton Sands are all exceptional and just a short drive away.

Morte Point and Bull Point offer opportunities for a wonderful circular coastal walk - once notorious for smugglers and wreckers, this stretch of the coastline is a great place to enjoy the dramatic scenery of rocky headlands, coves and sandy bays. If you are lucky you may spot seals on your walk, and you can enjoy the coastal heathland and grasslands.

The large village of Braunton is close by and has a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Braunton is famous for the stretch of sand dunes known as the Braunton Burrows.

Barnstaple is a nearby river-port town, and the River Taw's lowest crossing point before the Bristol Channel. It is well worth a visit for its picturesque estuary views, and has plenty of historical attractions.

Just 15 minutes away is the popular seaside resort of Ilfracombe with its harbour, which is overlooked by Damien Hirst's stunning 66ft tall sculpture of Verity. Aside from the beach, Ilfracombe is full of family friendly attractions and activities from the Aquarium in the harbour to Watermouth Castle and theme park, which combines the remains of a Victorian era castle with a theme park and gorgeous landscaped gardens.

Further along the North Devon coast are the delights of Coombe Martin, Lynton and Lynmouth, and the stunning Valley of the Rocks, you are spoilt for choice with coast paths and coves aplenty to explore.

Exmoor National Park is a pleasant short drive away, and has a unique landscape of moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland, where high cliffs plunge into the Bristol Channel. You will find cosy pubs and tearooms offering their delicious produce, so a day trip exploring this special area is highly recommended.

Lovely accommodation. Spotless, well-equipped and welcoming. Great and wondrous location. We loved The Rock pub. Philip (13) really made good use of the huge TV (whilst it was raining) and the beautiful fire. Thank you very much

Thank you for having us at The Dairy. We have had a lovely week exploring North Devon. Particularly enjoyed Putsborough Beach - our two boys loved bodyboarding here. A short walk to the Rock Inn for a lovely meal one evening too! The Dairy is clean, comfortable and provides a great base for a holiday. Thank you for the delicious scones too. The Carter Family

Thank you so much for making our first family holiday that extra bit more special. We’ve travelled to Devon with our 4 and 1/2 month old for his first trip to the seaside and The Dairy has provided all home comforts (especially with a baby!) away from home. The little welcome basket with fresh scones was most appreciated on arrival! We couldn’t get over how clean and immaculate the place was too ! The Dairy made the 1am and 4am feeds a delight !! Whilst here, we tried to follow everyone else’s visit recommendations, which were all brilliant. Weather was a bit dodgy at times, so Ilfracombe aquarium was an added bonus. Thanks again for a marvellous stay.

Thank you for a lovely stay at The Dairy. Such a peaceful location, and exactly what we needed for a few days away to recharge. It was great to find such a comfortable and clean property - home from home. We enjoyed a walk to the Porthole Cafe, and then back along the beach and up to Georgeham for Sunday lunch. (8 mile round trip from North Buckland). Another lovely day out was a trip to the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, and finally a walk around the cliff tops at Woolacombe. We hope to return again sometime soon.

Thank you for letting us stay here. There’s a robin that comes here everyday and sits on the table outside. We give him pieces of strawberry and bread. We called him ALAN! I love the house and especially the beds there so soft.

The cottage was fantastic, spotlessly clean and really well stocked with everything you would need. The location is great as we are away from the town and it's so peaceful just waking up to birdsong. We really enjoyed our stay.

We have been very ‘impressed’ with our stay at The Dairy, what a fabulous place :) It has everything we need; soft towels, hot water, welcome gift with fresh coffee and scones. Loved the location with quiet evening walks and meeting ‘Alan’ the friendly robin.

We’ve had a wonderful stay in your lovely Dairy with everything we’ve needed - we’ve appreciated the comfortable bed and the goodies we found on our arrival. Thank you so much. The weather has been hot and sunny all week so we have been able to make the most of this lovely part of Devon. Putsborough Beach - swimming, walking along Marine Drive and back along the sand. Watching the drama of the sea mist rolling in. Mortehoe Point - a beautiful walk with views of seals, ravens, a kestrel and wheatear. Good Sunday carvery at the Ship Aground. Fremington Quay - for bird watching and a very popular cafe. Baggy Point - walking round the point in the morning, then down to Croyde beach in the afternoon. Lunch at National Trust cafe. Watersmeet - a welcome shady walk. It’s been like an oasis to return here each day - so quiet and peaceful with the birds and butterflies for company.

Thank you for making our Summer and restoring our calm. From your warm welcome late on a wet Friday evening and answering our queries, to quietly being available IF needed- the balance was perfect. The Dairy is a treat being so well appointed. Our highlights were: · Sitting on the front doorsteps in the sunshine having a coffee, watching and listening to the wildlife- the red admiral on the buddleia, 12 house martins on the wires & a cuckoo. · Body boarding every day. · Dinner with friends at “Hang Loose” in Braunton · Walking on Morte Point & seeing 13 grey seals sunning themselves or hanging in their rockpool with our daughter too, the best treat of a surprise. · The local maps are very enjoyable & user friendly (some here & some in Georgeham Post Office) We will return!

We would go back tomorrow if work allowed! The grey seals of Morthoe Point were a highlight. The property is not on a through route for all vehicles - one exit is too tight for camper and etc - so beautifully quiet. A beautifully converted farm/guest house. The dairy is very well appointed except for the 4 mats we managed to destroy & our hosts graciously waved the apology away. Thank you to the property owners for making our summer!
