Location
Located on the beautiful English Riviera, Brixham is one of the most characterful coastal towns in South Devon, famed for its colourful harbour, strong maritime heritage, and thriving fishing industry. As one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK, Brixham is renowned for its exceptional seafood, with many independent restaurants and cafés serving dishes made from fresh local catch.
Five - La Petite Maison sits directly on Brixham Harbour, placing guests at the very centre of town life. The historic Golden Hind replica, a recreation of Sir Francis Drake’s famous ship, lies directly opposite the property and offers an immersive experience for visitors of all ages. Nearby, Brixham Heritage Museum provides insight into the town’s fishing past and maritime traditions.
Art lovers will enjoy Brixham’s lively creative scene, with numerous independent art galleries around the harbour and The Strand. It’s common to see artists working in situ, capturing the ever-changing light and colours of the waterfront.
For walkers, the South West Coast Path runs through Brixham, offering dramatic coastal routes towards Berry Head, St Mary’s Bay, and onwards to Paignton and Torquay. These clifftop walks provide some of the finest coastal scenery in Devon and are popular year-round.
Family-friendly attractions are also close by, with Paignton Zoo, Splashdown @ Quaywest, and the Dartmouth Steam Railway all within a short drive. The historic riverside town of Dartmouth is another popular day trip, known for its boutique shops, waterfront restaurants, and River Dart cruises.
With its unrivalled harbour front setting, walk-everywhere location, dog-friendly accommodation, and easy access to the best of South Devon, Five – La Petite Maison is an exceptional choice for a coastal holiday in Brixham.
